Prime Minister recognizes C-NES’ boat clinic initiative

Recognizing the unique initiative of C-NES in taking health services to the marginalized, socially and geographically excluded, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had warm words of praise for the programme in a recent visit to Assam. Calling it a "novel" effort, the Prime Minister described the program as an example of the "lead" that Assam was giving to the rest of the country in the healthcare facilities." Dr. Singh, who is a Rajya Sabha member of Parliament from Assam, was speaking at the Foundation Laying Ceremony of the Jorhat Medical College, on 25th August 2008.
