Sanjoy Hazarika speaks at IIT Ahmedabad
Sanjoy Hazarika, Managing Trustee of C-NES spoke at the IIT Gandhinagar’s India ki Khoj, on December 21, at a programme organised by Dr. Rita Kothari, a specialist on the Sindhi border people, their culture, social systems and aspirations and has written extensively about them. Hazarika spoke on the northeast and screened excerpts from two films – Measure of Impunity and Where there are no roads. The programme is developed for students and faculty from Caltech as well as of students from the IIT and professionals from outside.
Earlier the same day, Where there are no roads was screened with a introduction about C-NES and its work in the north eastern region. The event was attended by people working in the disaster mitigation sector, activists, journalists and intellectuals who were delighted and impressed with the work of the organization, its outreach. “The heart of the matter” he said, “was team work. Without it, no movement can go forward, no idea can succeed”. There were a interactions with the audience and sharing of thoughts.
