Padma Awards for C-NES Advisory Council members

We congratulate C-NES Advisory Council members, Ms.  Mamang Dai and Dr.  Suman Sahai, who have been awarded the Padma Shri for their prominent roles in the fields of literature and science. These were announced in the Republic Day honours list by the Government of India.  Mamang Dai is a well known writer of novels, poems and non-fiction about her home state, Arunachal Pradesh, while Dr. Sahai runs Gene Campaign,  one of the country’s best known advocacy groups on agriculture science and
people-centred science policies. Ms. Patricia Mukhim, C-NES Trustee,
had been awarded the Padma Shri severla years ago.
